About Position

The five essential responsibilities of this role are the following:

  • BIM Quality Control: The BIM Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the production of accurate, detailed ArchiCAD models for technical and construction documentation. Please note: our studio leverages ArchiCAD primarily, and we are seeking an ArchiCAD BIM Specialist. 
  • Template Management: The BIM Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining studio-wide project templates, standards, keynotes, and BIM workflows for all project types. Responsibilities also include serving as an in-house resource to resolve ArchiCAD issues and to support the daily use of the BIM platform. 
  • BIM Training: The BIM Manager is responsible for instituting and managing in-office training sessions to increase studio ArchiCAD expertise for all new and existing team members. 
  • BIM Consultant Coordination: The BIM Manager is responsible for coordinating consultants, specification writers and regulatory agencies to ensure BIM models meet standard of care/expectations. 
  • Design & Documentation: The BIM Manager shall still contribute to the collaborate design and documentation process on a handful of select projects from Concept through Construction Administration.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 5-15 years of experience in high-end residential, commercial, and interiors projects at all phases of the project life cycle 
  • Deep expertise in ArchiCAD required 
  • Mastery of other BIM applications preferred 
  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Architecture preferred 
  • Licensed Architect preferred, but not required 
  • Deep expertise in construction documentation
  • The ability to visually communicate design through drawings, diagrams, and details with expertise and precision
  • Experience leading teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong leadership and self-motivation
  • Excellent delegation skills
  • Highly skilled technically
  • High level of intrinsic design competence
  • Experience with assembling highly complex drawings sets
  • Good awareness of design, industry trends, materials, and the aptitude to translate these ideas
  • Punctual & organized
  • Knowledge of California Building Codes
